About Me
Please, let me introduce myself.
My name is David Paul Cowley, and I’m 55 years old. I work full time as a professional artist on the Isle Of Man.
I’m a self taught artist and have lived and worked my entire life on the Isle of Man. Drawing and painting have been a passion of mine since i was a schoolboy but like many artists, I was unable to follow my passion until later in life.
Ive spent my working career as a painter and decorator, where my decorating and sign writing skills have been sought after for the upkeep of historic Manx treasures such as the wonderful Victorian Gaiety Theatre and the iconic Elizabethan clock on Castle Rushen.
The skills I have honed during my working life as a craftsman, have translated through to my current role as a full time professional artist. I’ve always been a perfectionist and I employ my gift as a draughtsman to create detailed pencil drawings or watercolour paintings of things that attract me from my Manx homeland. My subject matter is varied and can range from well known landmark buildings or places, through to abandoned cars or local wildlife.
I also enjoy carrying out local commissioned drawings and paintings for customers on the Isle Of Man, and I always take great care and attention to all my commissioned pieces that I carry out. I like being very accessible and contactable, and always encourage all potential customers alike, to contact me anytime regarding their drawing or painting requirements.
As well as the beautiful Isle Of Man, I’m very lucky to have customers and collectors of my original artworks and Limited Edition Prints in the United Kingdom, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and as far afield as the United States of America.
“And I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for your continued support.”
Best wishes…

Testimonials
The picture you drew of our local Gate Lodge in the village for us was fantastic. The detail you manage just from seeing a photo was brilliant. Can’t recommend you highly enough as an artist Paul, your talent is endless. Love viewing all your work on your page.
Mrs Jennifer Gunn, Caithness, Scotland
I commissioned a pencil drawing of my four Grandchildren from Paul.
I am absolutely delighted with the finished artwork.
He has captured them all perfectly.
Mrs Liz Vipond, Douglas, Isle of Man
I absolutely love David Paul Cowley’s art! I think he is an incredibly gifted artist, and, I adore the print that I got! And it wasn’t even a problem posting my print to the USA.
Sharon Peek-Raines, Louisiana, USA
David Paul Cowley is a very good sympathetic artist with skills in many mediums. He recently provided for me a pencil sketch of my wife, and myself, to commemorate her unexpected passing in February this year. The artwork he produced was taken from a photograph of us and has her smile perfectly rendered. Anyone who will see David’s work will not be disappointed.
Mr Denis Harstshorne, Colby, Isle of Man
I have purchased a couple of Paul’s pencil drawings, one was of a signed and numbered Limited Edition Print and the other I purchased, was an original pencil drawing. I am absolutely delighted with them. From attention to detail and quality of the presentation is second to none.
Mrs Pauline Cowley, Douglas, Isle of Man
I cannot thank Paul enough for the amazing pencil drawing he did for me. It was a tribute to an Uncle who died in WW2 and Paul produced an uncanny likeness and my whole family have asked for copies! Highly recommended. I will be back for more!
Mr Dave Kneale, Port Erin, Isle of Man
Paul, was talking to our Rebecca just the other day about her portrait you did for her wedding present, a lot of people comment about it, a few people don’t believe it’s a drawing they think it’s a photo, thanks again Paul, you are a great artist and a true friend, keep the faith brother.
Mr Ian Fryer, Rochdale, United Kingdom
